REL Acoustics BASSLINE 6M 6 Meters Bassline Blue High-Level Subwoofer Cable
The REL Acoustics BASSLINE 6M Bassline Blue high-level subwoofer connection cable combines 18-gauge solid-core copper conductors, a proprietary filter board and amplifier-side spade connectors. Hand assembled for music systems and home theaters, it carries the same amplifier speaker-terminal signal that feeds the main speakers, helping preserve their tone, timing and texture. Rather than emphasizing bass output alone, this purpose-built upgrade is designed to bring greater clarity, dynamic shading and more seamless integration to the whole presentation.
Key Features
Proprietary Filter Board
The filter board is designed to preserve the incoming signal while providing appropriate impedance matching. Its goal is better-defined bass that integrates naturally with the main speakers, making the connection part of a coherent musical presentation rather than simply a way to add more low-frequency output.
Geometry for a High-Level Input
A high-impedance, low-current subwoofer input has different demands from a passive speaker. Narrow-gauge geometry addresses this specific application instead of relying on oversized conventional speaker wire. The design favors simple geometry and careful execution to support timing, transients and musical flow.
Hand Assembly and Spade Terminations
Simple spade connectors at the amplifier end were selected through listening comparisons. Hand assembly brings those connectors together with deliberately chosen termination techniques, keeping the emphasis on careful construction rather than elaborate networks. This is the standard high-level configuration.1
18-Gauge Solid-Core Copper
Slowly drawn, grain-aligned copper forms the foundation of the conductors. Solid-core construction, selected twists and silver solder are part of an approach focused on transparency and durable materials. The unobtrusive proportions reflect a cable designed specifically for this signal connection, not for delivering current to passive speakers.
Sound Illuminated
The intended upgrade extends beyond bass: clearer vocals, improved instrument separation and greater openness across the soundstage. With complex ensembles, the design aims to reveal individual musical lines with less congestion, bringing out nuance without adding brightness. Existing systems, including older REL Acoustics installations, are among the intended upgrade candidates.
After replacing the original cable, REL Acoustics suggests trying the crossover 1-2 clicks higher and the gain 1 click higher, with a maximum gain increase of 2 clicks.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The cable connects an amplifier's speaker outputs to a REL subwoofer's high-level input. It carries the same amplifier signal feeding the main speakers, with the goal of preserving their tone, timing and texture for integrated bass in music systems and home theaters.
-
REL describes clearer vocals, better instrument separation, more defined bass and more seamless integration with the main speakers. The manufacturer also reports greater soundstage clarity and dynamic nuance without added brightness. These are manufacturer listening impressions, not independently measured performance guarantees.
-
The standard configuration uses spade connectors at the amplifier end. Dedicated NAIM versions use different circuitry and stackable banana plugs; those features are not included in this standard configuration.
-
After replacing the original cable, REL recommends trying the crossover 1-2 clicks higher and the gain 1 click higher, or at most 2 clicks higher.

For new units purchased from an authorized dealer or directly from REL in the US or Canada, REL provides a three-year parts and labor warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. REL chooses repair or replacement, and inbound shipping is excluded. Coverage is nontransferable; authorized-dealer floor samples, demos, B-stock and show samples receive one year of coverage from the customer sale date.
