  The Alpha 7 IV offers HEIF (High Efficiency Image File) still-image encoding in addition to 14-bit RAW and conventional 8-bit JPEG. 10-bit color depth minimizes degradation of image quality when editing, providing smooth gradations and more realistic reproduction of skies and portrait subjects where subtle, natural gradation is essential.
