  The AI processing unit supports [Human], [Animal], [Bird], [Insect], [Car/Train] and [Airplane] recognition⁶. The same wide-ranging subject recognition is provided for stills and movies, and an [Auto] mode simplifies operation by allowing the camera to automatically select the subject type⁷. The [Auto] mode reliably takes care of subject selection in most cases, leaving the user free to concentrate on composition and shooting.

  69310 phase detection points in a high-density focal plane phase-detection AF system cover approximately 78% of the image area when shooting stills, achieving accurate focus even when the subject is small.
