The Zephyr AK7042DS Tempest I 42 in under-cabinet range hood from the Pro Collection combines a standard 650-CFM internal blower, dishwasher-safe professional baffle filters and dual-level LumiLight LED lighting with TruHue. Its streamlined, pro-style stainless steel finish and coordinated task lighting bring ventilation and visibility to the cooking surface. Electronic LCD controls, CleanAir and installer-configurable Airflow Control Technology support daily use and installation planning. The single-blower configuration offers vertical or horizontal ducting; a separately sold 1,200-CFM dual internal blower provides an upgrade option. Ductless installation requires an optional recirculating kit and is limited to the 650-CFM single-blower configuration.

  • Yes. Ductless installation requires the optional recirculating kit ZRC-7042C and the standard 650-CFM single-blower configuration. The kit is not compatible with the optional dual blower. Recirculation uses grease and charcoal filtration before returning air to the kitchen; exhausting outdoors is recommended when practical.
  • The standard single blower delivers 200-650 CFM. An optional PBD-1200B dual internal blower kit provides 400-1,200 CFM. Airflow Control Technology (ACT) lets the installer limit maximum airflow to 290 or 390 CFM to address local code requirements.
