Abt Electronics Expanding Services, Selection

If you've just dropped thousands of dollars on new home appliances at Abt Electronics, you may be interested in the Glenview company's latest offering.
Abt is expanding into home security services throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. Beginning this month, the company will work with major brands like GE Security and Honeywell, and will install door and window sensors, motion detectors, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, and more.
The independent retailer is also adding mattresses to its repertoire. It's building a second-floor loft addition to its 100,000-square-foot showroom, slated to be ready in mid-July, to feature brands like Tempur-pedic and the Swedish luxury label Carpe Diem. The new bedding area will also feature select linens, pillows and other bedding accessories.
