Abt Electronics Assembles an Expert Panel to Discuss the Must-Have Holiday Gifts

Glenview, Ill., November 14, 2012 — Abt Electronics gears up for a big reveal this weekend and the Chicagoland area is invited! Abt has selected their picks of hot holiday gifts and assembled a panel of experts to discuss and demo these items while talking about holiday shopping trends.

Join Abt Electronics' Holiday Gift Panel to see the latest electronics and gadgets that will be topping everyone's holiday wish list. Products will cover price points ranging from under $50 to $350 and over. Josh Davis, Abt's Apple Boutique Manager and Gifting Expert, will be leading the panel consisting of some of Chicago's top journalists and bloggers including Chris Foresman (Ars Technica), Marcus LeShock (WGN-TV), Nancy Loo (WGN-TV), Elliott Serrano (RedEye) and MJ Tam (Chicagonista.com).

"Holiday shopping can be a stressful time for people — especially if they are stumped on what to buy! Abt wants to help guide customers by providing a list of top gifts which make the perfect present for that special person on your list," says Abt's Josh Davis. The event is open to the public and will be a great chance to see what's new and popular this season while engaging in a Q&A with the panel.

Abt Electronics also reported a 50 percent increase in the retailer's e-commerce sales on Black Friday. Their website traffic was up 40 percent and Abt.com customers spent 39 percent more than they did in 2011. The Google Nexus 7 32GB Tablet was one of the most popular electronics purchased online.
