Abt Launches Unique Online Contest That Could Win You Modern Prizes
Glenview, Ill., April 30, 2012 — Calling all Antique scavengers or amateur collectors! Now is your chance to show-off your most coveted pieces. Abt Electronics, one of the nation's largest independent retailers and leading nationwide presence through its e-commerce site Abt.com, is looking for the most treasured antique electronics and appliances in the country. Unlike any contest that has been done before, Abt is calling on people to dust off those buried items in the attic or locate their family heirlooms and find out what they are worth!
Announcing the Antique to Abt-ique Contest, launching May 1, 2012 through October 31, 2012. Over the next six months, contestants can submit their antiques via online video and photo submissions on Abt Electronics' Facebook page. Each month, a winner will be chosen based on their product's appraised value, age and uniqueness and will win notable prizes like the outstanding LG 47" LED LCD Cinema 3D Smart TV. These six monthly winners will also be eligible for the Antique to Abt-tique Grand Prize of a new, top-of-the-line laundry pair from LG, the Titan Series Washer and Gas Dryer.

Participants must 'like' Abt Electronics' Facebook page in order to view the Antique to Abt-ique Contest application where they can upload their digital entry. Product categories will be assigned to each month and relevant items can be entered at that appropriate time. Digital submissions must be in TIF, PNG, JPG, GIF, MOV, MPEG, AVI or WMV format and all files must be no larger than 5 megabytes. Additionally, contestants need to include a written description of their antique and any relevant details including, date manufactured, product history, and/or personal story connected to the item.
Submissions for each category will be accepted up until the last day of the month. Entries will be evaluated by Erik Kafrissen, President of WhatsItWorthToYou.com, an online appraisal company, and his team of expert team of appraisers. Monthly Winners will be chosen during the second week of the following month and announced on Abt.com, Abt Electronics' Facebook and Twitter page. The Antique to Abt-tique Grand Prize Winner and Honorable Mention Winner will be announced Friday, November 9, 2012.
