Miele Combi Steam Oven Demo - Steaming Green Beans

In this video we use the Miele Combi Steam oven to cook green beans.
STEAMED GREEN BEAND WITH CARAMELIZED SHALLOTS
Yield: 12 servings
INGREDIENTS
4 pounds fresh green beans, stem ends trimmed and cut in half
5 shallots, julienned
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper
4 tablespoons butter, unsalted
Salt to taste
In a small sauce pan, melt the butter and brown sugar on medium heat (Induction setting 7). Add the sliced shallots and cook for about 15 minutes, or until translucent/tender, add the pepper and salt to taste. Take off heat to rest.
Steam the green beans in the Combi-Steam or Steam Oven until tender.
Program the oven Steam Cooking/212F/2 minutes.
Toss the beans and caramelized shallots together and serve warm.
Recipe Tips:
Using your Combi-Steam or Steam oven quickly steam your green beans for 2 minutes up to 2 days ahead.
Gently caramelize the shallots on Miele’s induction cooktop or on simmer if using your Miele gas cooktop.
Green beans can be gently reheated in your Miele warming drawer.
