In this video, we’re gonna take a look at the Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3. This is the Lagoon blue version, but we also carry it in black and red if you’re not a huge fan of lagoons. Starting off is the design. They kept it the same general size and shape, but they changed a lot of little things that give it a different look and feel. They also moved the location of the charging port. It’s now in a much more convenient spot on the back of the speaker hidden in that rubber strip as opposed to underneath like on the original, it was on the bottom.
The rest of the controls are on the top, and those are for power, Bluetooth, and the new Magic Button. The magic button’s a multifunction button that you can use for playing, pausing, and skipping a track, but that’s not what makes it magic. That comes from the ability to program it through the megaboom app. Here you can program playlists from Apple music and deezer premium and play them back by touching the magic button. The app is also gonna let you select from different equalizers or customize your own, turn your speaker on and off, set up block party so multiple people can control the music from their own phones, or party up with the ability to connect the megaboom 3 with up to 150 UE speakers. It’s IP67 rated so not only can you get it wet, but this speaker actually floats, so you don’t have to worry about it falling into a pool or your sink if you’re listening in your kitchen.
