In this video, one of Abt's experts tells you how to replace the RPWFE filter in your GE fridge yourself at home. First, you must locate your filter, as each refrigerator model is built differently. Second, you need to open the filter compartment. You can do this by pressing the end with your thumb, sliding your pointer finger behind it and pulling until the filter pops out of the socket. You can then pull the old filter forward until it won't move any further. Grab the filter firmly and pull until it comes out. Your new filter should be marked to show you which side goes where, but be sure to reference the accompanying guide so you do it correctly. Line your new filter up in the compartment and push one end into the slot. Then, push the filter forward until it's fully inside and close the door securely. Remember: before you can use your water dispenser again, you must run a couple of gallons through the water line. To see this process up close, press play on this video and let Shirley teach you.
