The KEF R11 Meta SP4056B1AA in Black Gloss is the largest floorstanding model in the R Series and its flagship three-way passive loudspeaker. Created for breathtaking high-fidelity listening, it brings together fine-detail retrieval, natural tonal presentation and the output needed to convey music with raw power and agility. The design can uncover the softest elements of a recording with grace and refinement, then deliver strength and scale when the performance demands it. Its broad room coverage and deep bass also make it a commanding choice for larger listening spaces. It is sold individually as one loudspeaker.

At the center of the acoustic design, the 12th generation Uni-Q driver array combines a 5 in aluminium midrange cone with a 1 in vented aluminium dome tweeter. This coincident arrangement acts as a single point source, spreading sound more evenly through the room so more listeners can experience the recording's natural detail. Metamaterial Absorption Technology manages unwanted sound from behind the driver to reduce distortion, while Shadow Flare extends the Uni-Q waveguide effect and helps the treble escape cleanly without harmful high-frequency cabinet diffraction.

Four 6.5 in hybrid aluminium bass drivers give the R11 Meta its foundation, pairing piston-like movement with the punch, speed and impact that bring music to life. Constrained-layer cabinet damping helps suppress vibration, while the carefully engineered flexible bass-reflex ports address turbulence and resonances that could color the midrange. Dedicated multi-layer microfibre grilles preserve performance when fitted and attach magnetically for a secure, precise appearance. For movie listening, matching R Series home-theatre models make it possible to build an immersive system around the same acoustic family.

MAT uses a highly complex, maze-like structure behind the Uni-Q driver to absorb 99% of unwanted rearward noise. Controlling that energy eliminates the resulting distortion and supports a purer, more natural presentation.

Derived from The Reference, Shadow Flare creates a carefully profiled transition around Uni-Q. Its shadow region keeps treble energy away from the cabinet edges, revealing finer high-frequency information.

Performance Critical Damping

Internal braces are joined to the cabinet through a lossy interface. This constrained-layer system changes unwanted vibration into heat, reducing cabinet coloration so the enclosure remains quiet.

True Bass Definition

Each low-frequency cone places a shallow, concave aluminium skin over a paper cone for the stiffness and geometry needed for fast, piston-like motion. A broad, uniform field from the magnet system adds authority and impact.

Flexible Port for Cleaner Bass

Computational fluid dynamics shapes each port's flare and profile to delay the onset of turbulence. Flexible walls also resist port resonances, helping prevent unwanted coloration from reaching the midrange.

Dedicated Microfibre Grilles

Multiple suede-like material layers and 1801 precision-cut holes for each driver allow the R11 Meta to perform with its drivers covered. Magnetic fixings maintain a secure fit and the clean styling of the R Series.
