The KEF R11 Meta SP4056A1AA in White Gloss is the flagship three-way passive floorstanding speaker in the R Series and its largest floorstanding model. At the center of the R11 Meta, the 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array combines a vented aluminum-dome tweeter and aluminum-cone midrange in a coaxial arrangement that behaves as a single point source. It spreads sound more evenly through the room, easing dependence on a tightly restricted sweet spot so people in different seats can hear natural, detailed sound. Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT)¹ uses complex maze-like channels to absorb 99% of unwanted sound radiating from the rear of the driver, reducing the distortion that can mask clarity. Reference-derived Shadow Flare complements that work by helping treble energy leave the array more naturally, revealing fine detail with less harmful cabinet-edge diffraction.

Low frequencies come from four 6.5 in hybrid aluminum bass drivers engineered to combine impact with fast, agile response. Cabinet and port engineering work together to keep unwanted vibration, turbulence, and resonance from coloring the performance, helping music and movie soundtracks retain punch, definition, and clean midrange character. A dedicated magnetic microfibre grille protects the drivers while preserving the R11 Meta's acoustic performance and clean White Gloss styling, whether the speaker is enjoyed with the grille on or off. As a passive HiFi speaker, the R11 Meta pairs with an external amplifier within KEF's recommended 15-300W range and can stand at the heart of a premium stereo system or join matching R Series models in an immersive home theater.

A Flare for Detail

Shadow Flare carefully profiles the cabinet transition around the Uni-Q array as an extension of its waveguide. This Reference-derived approach reduces the diffraction that can interfere with high-frequency information at the enclosure edges.

Performance Critical Damping

Constrained-layer interfaces within the internal bracing dissipate unwanted cabinet vibration as heat. With less mechanical energy left to contribute its own coloration, the enclosure provides a more stable platform for the drivers.

True Bass Definition

Each bass cone uses a shallow concave aluminum skin over a paper cone. The resulting stiffness, cone geometry, and broad, uniform magnetic field support piston-like movement for bass with punch, speed, and force.

Flexible Port for Cleaner Bass

Computational fluid dynamics determines the port's flare and profile to delay the onset of turbulent airflow. Flexible walls also suppress resonances that could otherwise affect the midrange.
