REL Acoustics HT/1003MKII BLACK Serie HT 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer in Black (Each)
The REL Acoustics HT/1003MKII BLACK Serie HT powered home-theater subwoofer combines a sealed, front-firing enclosure, a 10 in CarbonGlas driver and a built-in 300-watt RMS Class D amplifier, with in-room low-frequency extension of -6 dB at 24 Hz. Designed primarily for cinematic bass in smaller living spaces, it also supports music listening. Low-level stereo RCA and LFE RCA inputs provide wired connection options, while optional HT-Air MKII wireless connectivity requires a separately sold accessory. The Black line-grained cabinet pairs subtle detailing with a hand-rubbed, high-gloss lacquer top.
Key Features
Sealed Bass: -6 dB at 24 Hz In-Room
Everyday television, streamed entertainment and movie soundtracks are central to this closed-box design. Intended partners include bookshelf and medium-size floorstanding speakers, making it a home-theater-focused option that also has a role in music listening. Its emphasis is cinematic impact suited to smaller living spaces, not a promise of large-room output.
Designer Clothing
The Black cabinet uses horizontally oriented line-grained composite, topped by high-density fiberboard finished with five coats of hand-rubbed high-gloss lacquer. Cabinet radii and subtle detailing are designed to coordinate with Serie T/x and Serie S, while dark gray, mineral-filled nylon feet complete the presentation.
Drive Like You Mean It: 10 in CarbonGlas Driver
Long bass excursions demand a cone that retains its shape as it moves. CarbonGlas pairs a glass-fiber main cone with a pure carbon-fiber center cap to resist deformation during that movement. The inverted center cap and steel chassis complete the long-throw driver construction.
Amplified Excellence: 300 Watts RMS
This is a continuous power rating, not a peak-power headline. The built-in NextGen5 Class D amplifier is supported by a larger power supply, thicker circuit boards and upgraded components designed to support output and reliability. No separate subwoofer power amplifier is required.
PerfectFilters and Tuned Limiters
An explosion begins with a sharp transient before its low-frequency weight arrives. Revised secondary filtering is designed to preserve that initial attack, while deeper-bass equalization supports what follows. Tuned limiters work with this filtering to increase usable output.
Four-Post Internal Bracing
Four internal posts help damp the cabinet surfaces as the driver works. Around the driver magnet, a felt-lined opening leaves the vent's airflow unobstructed, allowing the bracing and driver to share the enclosure without blocking that vent.
RCA Connections and Manual Phase Selection
Use low-level stereo RCA connections or an LFE RCA connection to match your system's output. Matching daisy-chain outputs allow additional subwoofers, including a rear-room role in a multi-subwoofer theater. The manual phase switch offers 0 or 180 degrees settings for integration. An interconnect cable is not included, and the cabinets are not intended to be stacked as a vertical line array.
Optional HT-Air MKII Wireless
Where a long signal-cable run would complicate placement, the separately sold HT-Air MKII provides the supported wireless option. Wireless hardware is not built in. AC power is still required; a 6 ft power cord is supplied.
