Sony ILCE-6700 Alpha a6700 26.0MP Mirrorless Digital Camera Black (Body Only)

The α6700 combines the latest AI technology with Sony's outstanding α-series image quality in a compact APS-C camera body. Offering enhanced subject recognition, the latest technology for capturing stills and movies, and E-mount lens compatibility, the lightweight α6700 is designed for creative adventures, anytime, anywhere.

Features

  • 26.0MP1 APS-C Format Exmor R Back-Illuminated CMOS Sensor
The advanced Exmor R CMOS image sensor with 26.01 effective megapixels is packed with Sony's image sensor technologies. It offers extraordinary sensitivity, resolution and dynamic range, thanks to its back-illuminated format, gapless on-chip lenses, and AR coating (anti-reflection seal glass).
  • BIONZ XR Processing Power For Exceptional Image Quality
With up to eight times2 more processing power than previous versions, the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine delivers natural gradations and realistic colors with low noise for stills and movies.
  • Dedicated AI Processor And Real-Time Recognition For Accurate Subject Tracking
The α6700’s AF system delivers dramatically enhanced overall performance, drawing on major improvements in subject recognition performance. Deep learning technology supports powerful Real-time Recognition AF and more reliable Real-time Tracking3 of a wider variety of subjects.
  • 4k/60p 6K Oversampled 4:2:2 10-Bit Recording With Long GOP Or All Intra Formats
The α6700 captures 4K (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) at up to 60p (50p) using Sony's proprietary 6K oversampling technology. By compressing this expanded detail into the output, it achieves 4K video quality with outstanding definition, even at higher frame rates. The camera also supports high-quality XAVC S-I (All-Intra) and XAVC HS formats with 10-bit 4:2:2 color sampling.4
  • High Frame Rate 4K 120p (100p) Recording5
High frame rate recording at up to 120p for 4K QFHD (3840 x 2160) output makes it possible to capture high-resolution movies in-camera. This expands creative possibilities in post-production by allowing subject motion to be emphasized or transformed into smooth slow motion. S&Q mode6 also enables recording of slow or quick motion sequences in camera from the outset.
  • 5-Axis In-Body Optical Image Stabilization With Up To 5-Steps4 Of Compensation
Shoot hand-held or in low-light with confidence — the 5-axis in-body optical image stabilization system is supported by precision gyro sensors to deliver up to 5-steps4 of shake compensation. It detects and compensates for various types of camera shake, including angular (pitch/yaw) shake that is more apparent at longer focal lengths, or when shooting with slower shutter speeds.
  • Precise Anti-Shake Compensation At The Single-Pixel Level
Through enhanced design and control of key parameters, the α6700 provides precise detection and control right down to the single-pixel level, taking full advantage of the sensor's 26.0 megapixel1 resolution to produce images that capture all the finer details.
  • Wide Dynamic Range And High Sensitivity For Diverse Shooting Scenarios
The α6700's standard sensitivity ranges from a low ISO 100 to ISO 320007 and offers a wide dynamic range so that natural gradations can be captured in high-contrast scenes without blown highlights or blocked shadows.
  • Consistently Accurate Exposure And Color With New AE Algorithm
The α6700 offers impressive exposure control. It's equipped with a new AE algorithm, initially developed for full-frame models, which enables it to accurately detect the skin area of faces and adjust exposure accordingly when shooting stills and movies. It can also maintain realistic colors under a wide range of light sources, from sunlight through to theatre and stadium lighting, and produce more natural skin tones, sky and foliage colors.
  • HEIF: High Compression With Excellent Image Quality8
For the first time in an APS-C camera, the α6700 includes the HEIF (High Efficiency Image File) format with smooth 10-bit gradations for more realistic reproduction of skies and portrait skin tones. The HEIF format also uses advanced compression technology to maintain image quality while significantly reducing file size and saving storage space.
  • Compact, Lightweight Camera Made For Your Hands
With its compact shape, and lightweight 17.4 oz (493 g) body, the α6700 offers remarkable portability and maneuverability without compromising image quality. A new grip design provides a solid, even more comfortable hold on the camera, while giving greater control for shooting both stills and movies.
  • Easy To Use, Intuitive Touch Operations On LCD Panel
The α6700 features a large 3.0-type 1.03 million-dot (approx.) touch-panel LCD monitor with a 3:2 aspect ratio and side-opening vari-angle flexibility. This allows greater positioning and framing freedom, giving you plenty of creative options for handheld and gimbal-mounted shooting of stills and movies.
  • Durable Hardware For Tough Working Environments
The α6700 is built for tough working environments while maintaining its compact size thanks to its durable yet lightweight magnesium alloy chassis and dust and moisture resistant9 design. It is also equipped with a reliable low-vibration shutter, tested to perform beyond 200,000 shutter cycles.
  • Accessible Technology On Alpha Cameras
Sony's Alpha cameras are equipped with a number of accessibility features so that as many people as possible can utilize and enjoy our technology. For example, the screen reader function reads text on the menu screens aloud, with volume and reading speed adjustable as needed.
