The sound system combines three large circular woofers - two front and one rear - with updated ULT DUCT airflow management, two dedicated mid-range speakers and four tweeters. This array balances physical bass with vocal clarity and high-frequency energy, spreading both impact and detail through the venue. The front ULT control puts four listening profiles within reach: ULT1 emphasizes deep bass, ULT2 adds a powerful punch, FLAT creates a neutral starting point for customization and LIVE offers a concert-like presentation.¹ Sound Field Optimization adjusts performance for the environment, including wall placement and noisy outdoor surroundings, and the speaker retunes itself when used vertically or horizontally.

Beyond Bluetooth listening, the ULT TOWER MAX is ready for performers and hosts who want flexible ways to build an event. XLR input and loop output plus RCA input connect DJ equipment and additional speakers, while the microphone input brings echo, key and voice controls to karaoke. USB Type-C accepts USB Audio from a smartphone or PC, USB Type-A plays music from a USB drive and both ports can charge connected devices. Compatible speakers can join for wider multi-speaker events, or a second ULT TOWER MAX can create left and right stereo sound. Acclaimed hip-hop sound creators helped shape the ULT TOWER lineup's bass-forward character. The collaborators include producer Dot Da Genius, drummer and producer Daru Jones, producer, songwriter and DJ Dready, and audio engineer and producer Dennis 'ROC.am' Jones, bringing professional creative input to sound made for high-energy events.

The Signature ULT Button

A prominent illuminated control brings the speaker's core adjustments to the front panel. Press it to move between sound modes, turn it to change the level and watch its light respond in sync with the party illumination.

Take the Lead on the Decks

XLR input and loop output make it straightforward to route DJ equipment into an expanded speaker setup, while the RCA input adds another connection for decks and mixers. For systems with a DJ mixer feeding more than three speakers, Sony directs users to the XLR outputs.

Connect Up to 100 Speakers with Party Chain

Party Chain uses Auracast broadcast to link compatible Sony speakers, coordinating music and lighting across as many as 100 units for larger, more immersive events.³

Add an Extra Speaker for Rich Stereo Sound

Connect two ULT TOWER MAX speakers through Bluetooth to separate the left and right channels. The paired arrangement creates a broader stereo image with a stronger sense of presence.⁴

Ready for Karaoke

The microphone input supports solo performances and group sing-alongs with unit-level adjustments for mic volume, echo and song key. Sony | Sound Connect adds options such as Voice Changer for more ways to personalize a karaoke session.⁵
