In this video, one of Abt's top technologists, Carl, demonstrates how to connect your Blu-ray or DVD player to your TV. The first tip is to set up your player close to the TV in order to make the hook-up easier. Take a look at the back of your screen and explore the variety of outputs. There are two different ways to connect your player: RCA outputs or an HDMI cable. The RCA output cord that comes with your player feature red, yellow and white-capped cords and can be hooked up to almost any TV. The red and white cords are responsible for audio, while the yellow provides the video. Notice there are red, yellow and white inputs on the back of your TV. Just follow the color coding and match the cords to their proper inputs. While this process is already simple, HDMI connection is even easier as it's able to run both digital audio and video all through one cable instead of three. Once everything is plugged in, turn on your TV and adjust the input channel to either RCA or HDMI, depending on which connection you chose. To visually learn this process, press play on this video.
